A game that could have the students dash about trying to remember what action to do.
In a group students number off 1 to 4.
1 = milk, 2 = sugar, 3 = bread, 4 = eggs.
Tell a story about Mrs Brown making breakfast, running out of certain ingredients and having to go to the store. Every time you say milk, sugar, bread or eggs – those students have to race to the other side of the room and back.
Every time you say “cup of tea” everyone must stand, spin around and sit back down.
Each time students run to the wall, the last back is out. This means one of their team members needs to take on their number - so they will have two numbers. Last to sit down could also be called out. To really speed up a game the entire group could be out.
OR
Each time a student runs to the wall, the last one back is to sit out. This means one of their team members needs to take on their number - so they will have two numbers. You can get back into the game if the person running your number makes it back without getting out when your number is called. You would then take back your number.
OR
Students are not in groups. Each time one of the words milk, sugar, bread or eggs is said the students need to do a designated action.
For example :Milk = run to the wall/Sugar = make a group of two/Bread = make a group of three/Eggs = sit on the floor
These actions can be decided by the class.
As before the last student to complete an action or who does not make it into a group is out.
