Last letter, first letter

An improv activity that develops language skills and creates interesting stories.

The last letter of a sentence is used as the first letter of the next sentence. 


Example:

“Welcome to my home.”

“Echoes a bit doesn’t it.”

“That’s the ghost.”  and so on


Options

  • Can be done by the entire class, small groups or pairs.

  • The teacher could note the letter to be used while students get used to the idea.

  • Could limit discussion to a topic or book.  

  • Could help with spelling and vocabulary by giving words to be used and just having the students thinking about what letter comes where.

  • Points could be given for creating sentences. 

  • If the class are doing this, teacher could indicate when a problem or ending should be happening.
