Games & Activities

You will probably recognise some of the games & activities, which is great.

A few have got a new twist and variations to try, while others have been adapted for online use.

Remember to keep in touch. Let us know how things go and new ideas you may have.

Energise, practice drama skills, actively teach Key Competencies or just have fun

The games & activities are listed in alphabetical order.

In each section you will find a quick note on how a game or activity could be useful, if its team orientated, needs equipment or can be used online.

I am not claiming these games to be mine, they have come from many sources over the years.

Drama Skills

Listed are 7 key skills in drama, but are useful in any classroom.

Remember to ask the students what are they practicing before or during a game.  Just like in Mathematics, the games are fun but they have a purpose.

Drama Conventions

Just like in any subject there are established ways of working. In drama these are called conventions and can be broken down into three areas; performance (to help structure a drama), development (to help expand ideas), technical (lighting, sound, costume, etc).

Key Competencies

A lot of games will cover all of the key competencies at once. This list considers which key competency a game might highlight the best. Of course it is important to facilitate discussion around what you want to highlight with your students.
